I have the biggest damn crush on this girl now. Can you blame me?

Wow, what a... what a weird day. What a mix of emotional filth and redeeming glee alike. How strange. This semester has been riddled with mortal dread, nihilism, and apathy, and yet today I feel as though I can shrug all of that off. It's just the weight of ashes, nothing heavy. For months I've felt as if I would never be able to smile a genuine smile again. Today, I feel differently. Much differently. I can do anything, including working towards attainable future goals, including forgetting that I'm a mortal with limits in life and death. Maybe I can. Or maybe today is just a funny, isolated sort of day.

Please stop pooping on me. Okay? Thanks. |

![]() My friend Susan and I pretended we could play an accordion in an empty parking lot. It was too much fun for one evening.

For a few months now I've been extremely depressed about my mortality. I can't seem to think of anything else. I can't be the only person in the world who's gone through this, can I?

Indeed it was! Francis Marion's production of Buried Child went exceedingly well tonight. The audience laughed at the dark humor and the awkward moments, which only encouraged us to do well. (Nothing kills the mood like a bad audience, I tell you.) I was so nervous all day long, especially right before I had to yell my lines from offstage, but I toughened up as soon as I got in front of the audience and performed my monologues. There's nothing quite as terrifyingly thrilling as performing in front of a crowded room full of strangers, or even people you know, for that matter. I think I feel most alive while doing it, actually. One night down, two more to go! Now to make a mix CD for the (potential) cast party tomorrow night, squeeeee.

Pardon my Latin, but hooray!, the play is saved! I am so, so happy. You have no idea how scared and nervous I was over the prospect of losing the performance. I mean, even though plays usually equate with gobs of stress, they're a lot of fun, and they fill me with a sense of purpose. Plus I meet some really great, caring, and above all eccentric people with whom I have but no choice to bond. I'd marry my cast mates if I weren't already betrothed to Aw, what the hell, I'll just go ahead and marry everyone!

![]() Tonight's rehearsal went a lot better than expected. I just hope it was enough to save the show. *Crosses fingers*

I am under so much pressure right now. Dr. Larsen's threatening to either a) cancel the show, which will result in countless people being pissed at us, or b) replace us all with understudies, which will be one of the biggest insults and reasons for bearing shame I've ever encountered in my life. On top of that, my classes aren't getting any easier, and I have no idea what the fuck I want to do with my life. I don't even know if I have the proper work ethic to execute my dreams, assuming I have any left. I don't know, I just don't know. Sonnuvabitch.

Hellblinki came to town again last night! Their show was just as awesome as I expected, only this time they invited master puppeteer Madison J. Cripps along for the trip. I'm ashamed to admit that I've never seen a professional puppet show in real life before, so you can imagine how impressed I was when I witnessed Cripps's fantastic performance. One of his puppets, the lady Charlotte, had the gall to call me "sugar nipple" when I guessed her second favorite letter correctly (which is W, by the way). I also bought one of his fabulous hand puppets after the show and named it Jebediah Crumblesworth. Madison was pretty impressed by the name. I'll post a picture of Jeb and me when my acne doesn't look like hell.
(Top: Madison J. Cripps; L to R: Bradley Lunsford, Andrew Benjamin, and Valerie Meiss [hope I got their names right.]) So yeah, fun times, fun times. As you can probably guess, I have a major crush on this guy now. (I think it's pretty obvious why- I mean, he's a puppeteer, and he's got great hair, c'mon). Unfortunately, I either forgot the name of his oh-fish-ee-ull website or it doesn't exist. If any of you are adept in the ways of master google fu and you should stumble upon the site, please let me know. I will kiss your soul and invite you to the wedding. There will be feasting and puppets and merriment.

I finally got one! $92.37 at the Antiques Warehouse, woo! His name is Theophilius. Okay, that's enough musical instruments for now!

Thanks for your input, guys! I named my glockenspiel Sir Ferdinand Johann Maurice Glockenspocken of Spiel-Upon-Florence. He's super happy with it.

I bought a wee glockenspiel today! Any suggestions for a name? I still haven't figured out its gender...

Oh my HELL, I am so tired. This past week has been uber-demanding, you have no idea. It seems that all I've done is study, commute, walk, endure grueling rehearsals, and sew a teddy bear. But I can't say that it's all been bad. My theatre buddy Will and I exchanged zombie comics, and I got to chill on top of a hill while sewing my bear. I'm so grateful that next week includes Fall Break, oh man. I could sure use the rest and relaxation (although I'll still have to read and study).
